This spirit kettle features a vines and leaves motif with a twisted copper handle. The cramp seam on the base of the kettle dates this to the 1850s or earlier, by 1900 this kind of metalwork was almost entirely obsolete. These are referred to as spirit kettles because they generally used spirits as the fuel. The stand is made of hand formed wrought iron. It is not particularly heavy with the whole thing weighing just over 10 lbs. The spirit burner lid does not come off but I suspect it is not intended to, I believe that you would fill it through the wick hole. It stands 47 inches tall and about 15 inches across at the feet. There is a dent in the kettle and a bit of rust on the stand.
