Condition: A rare and significant historical piece, this very large, heavy metal TROPHY CUP with side handles is in very good condition with some tarnishing & discoloration and/or other imperfections & patina. No damage to the metal, which is with NO makers mark found, bottom has round removeable pad. Item is engraved with extensive poultry art-drawings around top half and words on one side: HIGH GRADE CUP DONATED BY GALVESTON BREWING CO. FOR LARGEST & BEST DISPLAY OF CHICKENS IN SHOW WON BY: HENRY THOMAS. Front side reads: THE GALVESTON COUNTY POULTRY & PIGEON ASSOC. DEC 20-23, 1911. Back in 1911, they held an event from December 20th to 23rd, during which they awarded the Budweiser Cup. This cup was donated by the M-Brock Beer Co. and was given to the highest-scoring chicken in the show, which happened to be owned by Henry Thomas.
